Roderick E. Thornton

Rod Thornton spent his early years in “Fish Creek,” a tiny farming community in central Texas until he was about 12; his destiny brought him to Houston to live with his mother.

Years later, He would serve in the United States Air force and the Houston Firefighter for fifteen years, where he received two citizen awards and a Citation of Valor. In 1994 Rod was in a car accident while on military leave in which he suffered several broken bones, after two and half years and five surgeries, his career path changed.

He retired from the Houston Fire Department in 2005 was ready for the next chapter in his life. In 2007 he launched “Angel Comics”, and he has not looked back since. Along the way he has worked for several Indy comic companies as a freelance artist. On such projects like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles….
